I am quite happy about something new that I am making for the Portobello West market is not a new set, is more in the line of an accessory. It quite fun to make, you can take it everywhere its easy to spot… here are some photos of the making. I will post more so you can all see what THIS is about, but I have to get my hand moving to finish on time.
A bit of inspiration
Comiditas is making me think about my precious moments from childhood. When I was growing up in Mexico, there were two main ingredients needed to get the family together: a good meal and my grandparents. I come from a VERY large extended family on my mother’s side (12 siblings) and the excuse to get everyone together in the same place was always connected to food and celebrations.
My grandparents got it quite clear when it came to their priorities in life: family (and food, ha!) So for me, Comiditas, in a way, has reminded me of the importance of playing and laughing and celebrating around food with the people you love.
Comiditas as a rainbow
I recently learned about Today I Ate A Rainbow!™ a great way to approach healthy eating. The idea to engage your kids in good eating habits is something that I consider very important. Kia’s work towards developing tools to help parents is fantastic and got me thinking.
Can Comiditas create a rainbow?
I tried, so I collected all the fruits and veggies from our kits and arrange them by colours. I have to admit that to me, it looks fantastic, check out the photos!
Thanks Kia!
